Mainbrew staff
Main Street Homebrew Supply Co (mainbrew.com). was founded in 1991 by its present owner, operator and spiritual leader, Kevin Lopes. Kevin has a degree and a background in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California, and a continuing dedication to providing accurate, scientifically valid information to home-brewers and winemakers. He believes that with the proper information, making quality products becomes a sure thing: it is only through false information that people are led astray into the twisted corridors of weird fermentations.

Kevin also knows that with the huge amount of information that is already Out There, people are often confused about what (exactly) are the proper procedures; therefore, he insists that there are no "stupid" questions, and he encourages beginners (in particular) to call as much as necessary so that they feel totally comfortable with the entire process, start to finish.
From scratch, Kevin has created one of the most successful "all things beer" fermentation supply stores anywhere, in addition to a flourishing bottle and keg shop. Kevin's dedication to service has created one of the best small company staffs in the industry.

Douglas. Douglas is Mainbrew's original employee and is well-trained in customer service and has a long history of fermentation experience to help him answer even the most complex questions. Through the years, he has become pretty obsessed with Mead-making (in addition to beer, wine, and port) and has been producing some incredible honey wines from complexities of the hive. Douglas is the creator of  the scientific and comprehensive Mead website, traditionalmead.com. Be sure to check it out if you have any interest in making the elusive honey wine. Douglas is responsible for finding and ordering new products as well as many of the hard to find beers and meads. Douglas is also a professional photographer - ethereallight.com.

Jon. Jon has an amazing knowledge of esoteric beer styles and is a wealth of information on most anything beer, wine, mead, cheese making, and dare we say, "water purification" and "essential oil" extraction, uh-hum. Jon has an amazing memory for recipes, brewing techno mumbo-jumbo, making cheese, people, and where "misplaced things" are in the store (he claims it is job security). Jon is our resident silly joker and his sense of humor can often break any "tensions" that may occur in the shop. Jon shares duty with Douglas in getting in rare beers. If you have a question about fermentation and beyond, Jon can probably answer it. In depth.
William. Will is called upon the brew shop for just about everything. Will is capable of answering many of your concerns in making great beer and will help you design your next batch. Will spends a lot of time in his talk-throughs with you to make sure you are very comfortable with the brewing or winemaking process before leaving our store.
Steven. Steve is our stainless fabrication guy and all around fermentation enthusiast. He can create just about anything for you to address your brewing needs. Steve also has a peculiar sense of humor and while sometimes hard to know at first if he is being serious or cracking a joke, you will leave satisfied knowing you got great information, service, and a great product he has designed for you. Steve is a great problem solver. Steve is not full time because he is often saving lives with the local fire department.
Lastly we have, Harrison. Harry is our newest employee, but gaining experience by leaps and bounds. Harrison brews every week. Harry is a great all around guy and is able to assist you with most of your questions or needs. We call upon Harrison for many task at Mainbrew.

The Mainbrew team is dedicated to customer service and providing top-quality ingredients -- feel free to
e-mail or call if you ever receive anything less. We are here to help you.
